Start area

It all starts here!

The heart of the race beats at Place de la Gare in Montreux, right at the foot of the start arch.
This is where you’ll find the main services, runner check-in, and the unique race-day atmosphere.

🎽 Bib pickup

On-site at Montreux CFF Train Station:

Saturday (day before the race): 2:00 PM → 5:00 PM
Sunday (race day): from 6:00 AM

Follow the signs for a smooth and efficient pickup.

🚿 Changing rooms & Showers

Men’s and women’s changing rooms with showers are available at Collège Etraz, 450 meters from the start.

👉 Follow the on-site signage to get there easily.

⚠️ Changing rooms are not monitored. Please avoid leaving valuables.

🚻 Toilets

  • Before the race: Portable toilets are available at Place de la Gare and at the end of the MOB platform.
  • On the course: Toilets are available at Sonchaux.
  • At the finish (Rochers-de-Naye): Restroom facilities are accessible inside the restaurant.

Runner services

Sports bag – drop-off & pickup

You can leave a sports bag with personal belongings you wish to have at the finish. This service is included in your registration.

🕗 Drop-off before 8:45 AM:

– Montreux start: next to the registration desk
– Caux start: at Caux train station

IMPORTANT : Bags are not provided. Participants wishing to retrieve their belongings at Rochers-de-Naye must bring their own bag.
Make sure to securely attach the label provided with your race bib so your bag can be properly identified and transported.

Pickup at the finish:
Your bag will be available at Les Rochers-de-Naye train station, just below the restaurant building, in the designated area.

Pro tip: use a bag that’s easy to recognize for quicker pickup at the finish.

Aid stations

A mountain race requires careful management of nutrition and hydration.
On each course of Montreux–Les Rochers-de-Naye, both food and drink aid stations are available at regular intervals, as well as a final station at the finish.

For every race, the location of each aid station is marked on the course map with a red cross on a white background.

Each station offers:

Drinks: mineral water, isotonic sports drink
Food: energy bars, slices of orange, lemon, apple, and banana

Medical service

Participant safety is a top priority at the Montreux–Les Rochers-de-Naye races.

First aid responders are present at every aid station to provide nearby assistance throughout the course.

In addition, four emergency physicians are on duty and ready to intervene quickly, particularly in the Sonchaux and Rochers-de-Naye sectors.
If necessary, helicopter evacuation to a hospital can be triggered immediately.

⚠️ Don’t hesitate to report any discomfort or injury as soon as the first symptoms appear.

Rules & safety

Participation in the Montreux–Les Rochers-de-Naye races implies full acceptance of the rules.
These rules are designed to ensure safety, fair competition, and the smooth organization of the event.

Participation requirements

This event is a demanding endurance race that requires serious training and good physical health.
Each participant runs under their own responsibility.
The organizing committee reserves the right to deny a participant’s start if their condition appears incompatible with the safety of the event.

Insurance

Each runner must be personally insured.
The organization accepts no responsibility in case of accident, material damage, or theft.

Withdrawal

If you need to drop out, notify the nearest aid station immediately.
To retrieve your bag, go to the MOB counter in Montreux from 3:00 PM.

Sometimes, choosing to stop is the best way to respect your body.

✅ Allowed on:

  • The Hike and Fly
  • The Directissima

Course marking

  • The Classic, The Cadette, and The Hike and Fly: blue markers

  • The Directissima : red marker

Kilometer signs are placed along the courses to indicate the remaining distance to the finish.

Timing chip

Each participant receives a disposable electronic chip integrated into the race bib. No return is required at the finish.
