A pioneer in the discipline, La Classique has been challenging runners for over 40 years. Starting from the Place du Marché, take on this 18.4 km monument with 1,760 m of vertical gain. From the lake to the peaks, the profile is clear: climb relentlessly on this legendary course. Traverse forests and grand panoramas before triumphing at the Rochers-de-Naye. An unmissable event for a spectacular finish at nearly 2,000 m.

Start

Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Place du Marché in Montreux. Start at 7:30 AM for Walkers and Nordic Walkers, from 9:00 AM for Runners.

Distance

Distance: 18.4 km of continuous ascent. A demanding challenge, tailored to surpass yourself.

Elevation gain

1,760m of elevation gain. A total effort to touch the summits.

Finish

At the foot of the Rochers-de-Naye Hotel (1,981 m).

The course includes 63% asphalt road, 19% track, 18% trail.

💰 REGISTRATION FEES
Prices vary depending on the registration date:

  • Until February 28: CHF 50.–
  • March 1 to April 30: CHF 60.–
  • From May 1: CHF 70.–

🏃‍♀️ RUNNERS
From 18 years old for the Runners category. Well-trained participants.

  • Elite – Men / Women
  • Men 1, 2, and 3
  • Women 1, 2, and 3

🚶‍♀️ WALKERS
However, the event is accessible from 7 years old for the Walking and Nordic Walking categories.
⏱️ The time is tracked, but no ranking is established.

Route evaluated by the ITRA. The results of the Runners category will be submitted after the race to calculate your Performance Index.

Walking & Nordic Walking: Results are not submitted to the ITRA.

🎽 RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
No mandatory equipment.
However, you will be navigating in the mountains up to nearly 2,000m. Conditions can change quickly.

  • Sun: Cap, sunglasses, sunscreen.
  • Unstable weather: Warm clothing and a windbreaker are essential.

🦯 USE OF POLES

  • ✅ ALLOWED: Walking and Nordic Walking categories.
  • 🚫 STRICTLY PROHIBITED: Runners category.

📬 HOME DELIVERY
Option to select during registration (CHF 3.–).
Restricted to Swiss residents only.

📍 ON-SITE PICKUP
Location: Marché Couvert (Montreux).

  • Saturday: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday morning: From 6:00 AM

Start: Place du Marché (Montreux).

🕒 7:30 AM: WALKERS
Mass start (Walking & Nordic Walking).

🕘 FROM 9:00 AM: RUNNERS
Staggered starts to avoid congestion at Les Planches:

  • Wave 1: 9:00 AM
  • Wave 2: 9:05 AM
  • Wave 3: 9:10 AM
  • Wave 4: 9:15 AM

(Time allocated based on the estimated time provided during registration).

🍎 ON THE COURSE
8 refreshment stations are spread out along the course.

These stations offer:

  • Mineral water and sports drinks.
  • Energy bars.
  • Fresh fruit (oranges, lemons, apples, bananas).

⏱️ TIME LIMIT
Control closure at Les Rochers-de-Naye: 1:30 PM.
Beyond this time, participants will not be ranked.

🚞 RUNNER'S RETURN
Descent by cogwheel train included (upon presentation of the bib).

🎟️ ACCOMPANYING TICKETS (Reduced price)
Purchase during the runner's registration:

  • Adults: CHF 40.–
  • Children (up to 16 years old): CHF 20.–
  • Children (up to 6 years old): Free

⚠️ VALIDITY ZONE
Valid ONLY on the Montreux–Les Rochers-de-Naye line.
🚫 Not valid on the GoldenPass line (Les Avants).

📍 MANDATORY PICKUP
Train tickets are never sent by mail.
Mandatory pickup at the Information stand (Marché Couvert) before the start.

Every Finisher will receive the 2026 souvenir prize at the finish line.
