📋 RACE PROCEDURE

🏃‍♂️ The ascent

Participants begin with an uphill climb from Caux, carrying their flight gear, including a mandatory reserve parachute.
Poles are allowed to help manage the 950 meters of elevation gain.
The ascent is timed upon arrival at Les Rochers-de-Naye (1,981 m).

🪂 The descent

The descent is done by paraglider from Les Rochers-de-Naye to Villeneuve.
🕒 No timing is recorded during this phase, in order to minimize risk-taking.

However, it remains a decisive part of the race:

– Two waypoints must be flown over during the descent
– A precision landing is required in Villeneuve

✅ These three elements result in time bonuses (in minutes), which are deducted from the ascent time.

📊 Final ranking = Ascent time – Flight bonuses
