42 km. A loop between lake and summits for an extraordinary vertical challenge.

Montreux, Place du Marché. From the ridges to the shores of Lake Geneva: complete the adventure where it all began.
Terrain types
The course consists of 19% paved road, 41% tracks, and 40% trails.

INFO MARATHON
The Rochers-de-Naye Marathon is an endurance challenge that requires rigorous physical and mental preparation.
🩺 Health & Safety
- Fitness: Each participant declares they are in good health and have no medical contraindications to competitive trail running.
- Medical Authority: Race doctors and first responders have the absolute authority to stop a competitor if they deem them medically unfit to continue.
- Insurance: Personal accident insurance and civil liability insurance valid on race day are mandatory.
💰 REGISTRATION FEES
Fees scale according to the number of bibs sold (quota system):
- Bibs 1 to 100: CHF 80.–
- Bibs 101 to 250: CHF 90.–
- Bibs 251 and +: CHF 100.–
📅 DEADLINES AND CONDITIONS
- Closing: May 31, 2026 (or earlier if quotas are reached).
- Minimum age: 18 years old on race day.
- Registration: Exclusively online via Datasport. No on-site registration on race day.
- Refunds: No refunds by the organization in case of non-participation (injury, illness). Consider Datasport cancellation insurance.
🎒 LE MARATHON (MANDATORY BASIC KIT)
Must be carried from start to finish. All mandatory clothing must be in the participant's size and unaltered.
- Backpack suited for carrying gear.
- Smartphone turned on, charged, with EchoSOS app installed and Race HQ number saved (+41 21 519 08 85).
- Personal cup (min. 15 cl) mandatory.
- Water reserve (Min. 1 liter when leaving aid stations).
- Food reserve (min. 800 kcal, e.g., 2 bars + 2 gels).
- Warm second layer (long-sleeved garment, min. weight 180 g in men's size M, cotton prohibited).
- Waterproof jacket with integrated hood, minimum protection of 20,000 Schmerber. The RET breathability index (measuring the garment's ability to evacuate sweat) must be less than 13. Note: A simple windbreaker or poncho does not replace this technical jacket under any circumstances.
- Survival blanket (Min. 1.40 m x 2 m).
- Whistle.
- Elastic adhesive bandage (strapping, Min. 100 cm x 6 cm).
- ID (original or copy).
- Cap, bucket hat, or multifunctional bandana.
🌤️ WEATHER KITS (CAN BE ACTIVATED)
The organization may activate these kits the day before the race depending on the weather.
- Bad Weather Kit: Long trousers/tights, waterproof overtrousers, warm beanie, warm/waterproof gloves.
- Heat Kit: Minimum 1.5L water reserve, legionnaire hat (covering the neck), sunglasses, sunscreen (minimum SPF 50).
⚙️ SPECIFIC RULES
- Poles: Allowed for Le Marathon. If taken at the start, they must be carried to the finish line.
- Earphones: Allowed except when crossing roads, railway tracks, and in aid station zones.
- Animals: Participation with a dog is strictly forbidden.
- Bib: Must be 100% visible at all times, placed over clothing.
For Le Marathon, bib collection is done exclusively in person at the Marché Couvert de Montreux. There is no home postal delivery for this distance.
📍 LOCATION & CONDITIONS
- Location: Marché Couvert de Montreux.
- Condition: Presentation of a valid original ID is mandatory upon collection.
🕒 SCHEDULE
- Friday: 14:00 - 17:00
- Saturday (Race Day): from 06:00
Tip: Come on Friday to avoid stress!
🍎 AID STATIONS (Semi-autonomy)
Spread along the course. Offering: Water, isotonic drinks, cola, salty, sweet.
⚠️ Ecological reminder: No disposable cups provided on Le Marathon. Personal cup mandatory. No littering allowed on the course.
🤝 PERSONAL ASSISTANCE & PACERS
Le Marathon is run on the principle of semi-autonomy.
- Allowed assistance: Only within official aid station zones (and +/- 500m).
- Wild assistance: Any assistance outside official zones is forbidden.
- Pacers: Strictly forbidden to be accompanied on the course outside of aid stations to dictate the pace.
🚗 SONCHAUX ACCESS (Support Crew)
Vehicles must absolutely go through the route de Caux. The road on the Villeneuve side is strictly reserved for descending runners.
Cut-off times ensure safety. The announced times correspond to the maximum departure time from the checkpoint.
⏱️ TIME LIMITS (Checkpoint Departure)
- 📍 Col de Jaman: 11:30
- 📍 Rochers-de-Naye: 13:15
- 📍 Sonchaux: 15:45
- 🏁 Finish Montreux: 18:00 (Race closure)
⚠️ Any competitor leaving a checkpoint after these strict times or crossing the finish line after 18:00 will be disqualified and their bib will be removed.
🆘 LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY OR SEVERE ACCIDENT
- Call 144 (ideally via the EchoSOS app).
- Then contact Race HQ at +41 21 519 08 85.
If there is no phone network preventing contact with rescue services, the participant in distress must imperatively ask anyone nearby (organization, competitor, or third party) to relay the alert immediately.
⚠️ Assistance: You have a moral and legal obligation to assist anyone in danger.
⚠️ MANDATORY WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURE
Except in the case of a severe injury preventing any movement:
- You must proceed to the nearest aid station.
- Report your withdrawal to the station chief (your bib number will be recorded).
- NEVER leave the course without notifying the organization.
⚠️ If searches (helicopter/rescue) must be initiated to find you because you left the course without notice, the associated costs may be entirely at your expense.

🎟️ TRAIN TICKETS (Special Offer)
To be purchased during runner registration:
- Adults: CHF 40.–
- Children (6-16 years): CHF 20.–
- Children (< 6 years): Free
⚠️ VALIDITY ZONE
This ticket is ONLY valid on the Montreux–Les Rochers-de-Naye cogwheel train line (to go to Jaman and the Summit).
🚫 It is NOT VALID on the GoldenPass line (which serves Les Avants).
⚠️ Physical collection of tickets is mandatory at the Marché Couvert (no postal delivery).
Le Marathon features an overall Scratch ranking for Men and Women. Prize money rewards the top athletes:
- 1st Place: 1,200 CHF
- 2nd Place: 800 CHF
- 3rd Place: 500 CHF
- 4th Place: 300 CHF
- 5th Place: 200 CHF
⚠️ Protocol: Prize money is handed over exclusively in person during the official ceremony. The physical presence of the winning athlete is mandatory. No proxy is accepted. Any prize money not collected during the ceremony is definitively forfeited to the organization.
The course for Le Marathon is officially evaluated:
- ITRA: 2 Endurance points.
- UTMB Index: Valid race (50K Category).
In the event of non-compliance with the regulations, participants face penalties up to disqualification.
